Dignia Foundation and the culture of care

The Dignia Foundation was established in January 2024 as an alternative to the limited access to palliative care for patients in Spain, with the aim of creating an ecosystem with all the Palliative Care entities in Spain, functioning as an amalgam of the sector, investing in a series of projects that would promote Palliative Care and the culture of care in Spain.

Quum becomes your ally in defining your communication plan, choosing spokespersons and managing the Dignia brand, generating media presence for the Dignia Foundation and promoting its own media to gain notoriety and help its viability, while raising awareness of palliative care by creating a "culture of care".

Our strategy was based on different tools to achieve these objectives.

  • On the one hand, we have opted for a communication plan for both national and regional media, but also specialised media in different sectors such as health, third sector, religious, education and society.

  • To support the sector, we have acted as a press office for other entities or projects, placing stories in the media that promote this "culture of care".

  • The foundation's own media have also been important assets. We have drawn up a content plan on social networks, our own and those of third parties, as well as keeping the website's blog updated and sending communications in newsletter format to a database of politicians, journalists and influencers that we are feeding.

  • In order to bring the sector together, we have set up the Informative Roundtable, a project that brings together the main palliative care organisations on a monthly basis. Quum has been the moderator of this roundtable and the filter for all the initiatives proposed. This roundtable has served as a multiplier of the impact of the initiatives of all the members.

In 2024, its first year of life as a Foundation, 133 media appearances have been achieved with an advertising value of more than 600,000€ and an audience of around 42 million people, achieving recurring interest from media as relevant as La Razón, Cadena SER or El Debate.

From a more qualitative perspective, we have organised 4 informative round tables with the main actors in the palliative care sector, such as the Spanish Society for Palliative Care, the Pía Aguirreche Foundation and the FUNDAZ PAIXENA Foundation, and we have created a Whatsapp and Telegram channel with the growing community where we have shared fortnightly content ranging from films, books, new regulations, etc.
